Brown tree cutter

Brown Mfg Corp - Trench Master Specs

By specs it should just barely be able to deal with it. You will need to move the lift links to the holes farthest from the tractor for the greatest leverage. It weighs 1600# and that's a load when hung out that far back.

Hey thanks I wanna start brush hogging but I wanna have a edge on every one and be able to cut up to 4 inch trees but my wallet will only let me affort the mx5100 but I don't want the browns to be too much for the tractor u know

I think it would be too much for that tractor. I've seen the tree cutter run. It was behind a 125 hp New Holland with special cage, tires etc. VERY HEAVY DUTY!

What are you wanting to cut? If you are just cutting up to 3" a good heavy duty brush hog would work better behind a MX5100. I'd want at least 65HP or more to run that 684 cutter. Note the 2200 lb weight. I'd just think you'd want a bigger/heavier machine to hold up to the abuse.

Yes, I think it will as my JD 4720 hydro (50 pto hp) runs a 5' tree cutter. But unless you are planning on mowing 2000+ hours a year you may not need that HD of a cutter. You may want to price a bush hog 406 brand cutter as well. It is a very HD mower.

Yeah, that's an advantage. IF <--> there is a market for that distinction.

Jave you thought about getting a 7100hp used 2wd gear tractor for hogging? Or do you have to stay fairly small size for trailering reasons?

Yeah, except for dwarfing a locomotive, it would certainly handle the hogging...:D

I would get the biggest brown tree cutter that your tractor can handle. We have the tree cutter and 9603 brush cutter. Another reason they are built so heavy is to handle trash such as old car rims, concrete blocks, and peices of old farm equipment that have been left behind. Other than a little damage to the blades these cutters are built to last. A cheap bushhog would have had the gear box busted to a million pieces and would end up costing $$$ in down time. I don't mind working in the shop for repairs but out in the field with 100 degree heat, bugs, and alot of cussing is not fun to me. If your cuttin heavy you get what you pay for.:)

Pick pick pick. ;) A guy forgets to add a "0" and a "-" on occasion!!

It should have said "70-100 hp tractor"

Although, A 7100hp tractor would be a hogg'n monster, eh?

I have a Woods Brush Bull and it built very well. I put chains on the rear. I would rather hire that stuff done with a bobcat and one of those grinder gadgets. I rather tear up the impliment than my tractor.

Get Turkeyman to send you some pictures of his JD. It has been armored like a tank. It speaks well of his JD because I though by now he would have rung off his PTO shaft with that big heavy *** Brown cutter he has on it and what he has put it thru.
