If you remember my other posts, none of them were about the XG3025. We own 17 wooded acres that we live an hour away from. My family owns 80 acres half hour from our home. The 17 acres is riverfront land that we hope to build a cabin on some day. When we bought it, it was so thick you could hardly walk thru it. My son and I did a lot of brush cutting, chainsawing, and burning. And we had a dozer come in last winter and clear a road and small open area.
Just keeping the brush down from where we had worked consumed a lot of our very limited time so I decided to look into getting a tractor. I could've saved some money maybe and bought an older tractor but the last thing I want to do is drive an hour and find out it won't start or it needs worked on so I definitely wanted new or close to new.
I looked at and drove all the top brands and quickly found LS to be the best choice in my opinion. The XR41XX series is sweet for sure! That series was out of our budget though if we were going to be able to build a cabin anytime soon.
In a cabin fevered state I decided to drive up to a different LS dealership I hadn't been to before. It was farther from the river property than the first one I went to but closer to my house. They were higher on all their new LS's and didn't care if anyone was cheaper lol. They had this XG3025 though that was just traded in. A couple bought it and decided after the recent cold snap that they wanted a cab lol so they traded for a 3135C. He quoted be a decent price on the XG3025 so we came back two days later, paid for it, and picked it up yesterday!
The 25hp niche has a lot of happy owners and a few that trade up due to not enough power it seems. I think it'll do 90% of everything I need it to do. Eventually I'll probably need to brush hog the 80 acres, thats why I really wanted the bigger tractor but I can always trade down the road.
I played around with my new toy yesterday a little and was real happy with it! Looking forward to getting a lot of work done with it. Appreciate all the info here!
