Broken weld on a Woods brush hog

Hi all,

Today was the first sunny day I've had off in a while, and I decided to do a little mowing with the tractor. After I hooked up the deck, I went to adjust the rear wheel height and noticed that a weld had broke. It's the one that attaches the pivot tube to one of the flat-bar supports. Not a big deal, I just welded it back up and re-melted the other side for good measure. Has anyone had any similar experiences?

It's a Woods RCC 42.

I haven’t had that specific spot in need of welding, but it is amazing what kind of beating a BH take. If you look at used BHs at the dealer, they have welds all over them and mine has several as well.

It is good to be able to weld these things together. My brushhog has just recently begun some cracks on the side skirts near corners. Partially caused by me backing into stuff.

I do not think that a brushhog is a buy it once and it will last a lifetime type of tool. Just too much abuse must occur when mowing brush.
