I found a broken spring under my clutch pedal. I can not see immediately where it went. It is a bright metal spring maybe 2 inchs long about 3/4 inch diameter. Where does it go and what does it do? Clutch seems to work fine without it but dont want to ruin something if I can help it.

Toby- Are you sure it is not a strap that holds the clutch petal down for long storage periods? Thats what it sounds like, Take a peak in your manuel

Go to TSC if you can. Mine was twice that much at a dealer.

I had the exact same thing happen about 6 weeks ago. You will need to remove the dash to access the location to replace the spring. My dealer is not close so I took the spring ( in 2 pieces) and went to my local farmers COOP and found one similar. I bought 2 since they were $1.50 each so if / when it happens again I will have an immediate replacement. FYI mine broke with about 110 hours on the tractor.
