My PTO button broke the other day. Is this a common problem? Seems like a poor design. You shut off the PTO by slapping the PTO button but if you do that when it is cold the button breaks. Cheap plastic junk.
Is there a more rugged option?

I think i am going to convert to this type. Cheaper and probably won't break so easy.

I ordered this yesterday. Its way cheaper, not cheap plastic, and the same diameter.
I'll share pictures when I install it.

Search Starlight Tractor Parts on eBay. He makes replacement parts

I've been using mine with the broken switch for 2 years now. Major PIA turning pto on and off by having to pinch that broken off nub. Haven't had time to replace it yet. I did get a new one from the dealer.
Not a fan of these type of switches. Wish it was a simple rocking switch. No idea why it has to be this type. Absolutely no benefit.

This is what I recieved. It is smaller than I thought it would be (that's what she said ).

Banana not included.

I am gonna give it a shot. They did have a larger version but I didn't want to drill the hole out larger incase I wanted to go back to the original switch for some reason.

I just fixed mine. The switch worked but the ring would not hold the switch in place. I took the switch into the hardware store and matched it up with a 7/8" snap ring. I also got a bushing, I think a 1" bushing for added support. I cost about $2 for the fix. Remove the 3 screws securing the gray plastic tray, hold the pto switch in place. Put the bushing or flat washer in place then place the snap ring on it with snap ring pliers. It works great.

I took some measurements incase I go with a different switch eventually.
I ohmed out both switches to figure out the wiring. I installed the new switch into the panel. Haven't installed onto the tractor yet.
I kind of wish I had ordered the next size up 22mm. I may order that one and swap it out eventually.

Dont understand why they didnt use a rocker switch to begin with. My switch is 14 years old…no issues.
