Broke shifter

I was helping a friend move dirt and when we were about done, my shifter suddenly went sloppy. He used his tractor to push me on the trailer and I took it home. Opened up the transmission today, 5 minutes, and found that the shifter had broken just below the ball. Nothing dropped into the transmission. Removed the parts from the cover, bound down the nipple where is was part of the ball, and mig welded it back on. The lower part of the ball does not contact anything so I did not have to make it real smooth when I cleaned it up. All together it took about 30 minutes from start to finish.

My girl is happy once a gain as she is not tied to the trailer any longer.
