not sure what i hit, probably the dirt (how? dunno) but when I looked under there one blade was completely gone. I wish I could have found the blade but I'm sure it went at around 200 miles per hour and probaly stuck in a tree somewhere.

So, question is, mower was LX 6 - what blade do I need? what size socket do I need to buy for it? thanks.

Man - one blade is completely gone? Any hardware left? Did the hardware come loose? How old is the unit? If it came off, I think I would be asking JD to fix it.

Part # for blade is W43594.
According to <font color="green"> JD</font>'s cross reference your rotary cutter uses the same blades, nuts, and bolts as the *13 cutters. I checked my set of 3/4" sockets. The only socket that has been used is the 1 1/2". This is the only need I have for this set of sockets. Hopefully someone can verify the size. I cannot get at my 513 to check size.

Did the blade break, or did the hardware loosen until the entire blade fell off?

If the blade fell off (including the mounting hardware), the cutter probably wasn't assembled correctly (torque of the bolts). How long have you had this cutter?

That's a pretty high torque required on those bolts (my cutter's blades are torqued to 450 ft-lb's). You'll want a six point socket, preferably one manufactured for use with an impact wrench.

sorry for the lack of info guys - closer inspection - blade is broken where bolt goes through it. opposite end of blade (3 inches) is still there held by the bolt.

Am I going to be able to get the nut off byb myself? 450 pounds of torque is probably more than I can muster, even with a breaker bar.

I just read the manual on the my MX6 You will probably need help or a torque multiplier. You cant reach the wrench/bolt on the bottom and the wrench/bolt from the access hole in the top at the same time of couse this assumes the stump jumper.
