Broke diff. Lock

So somebody (me) managed to break off the differential lock lever (don't ask) on our JD 2950. I think it was broke off by up pressure from rear, thus max engaged lock. Tractor seems to run unaffected. Can this cause a major problem?

Any help appreciated.

Are you stating dif lock is engaged or not engaged?

To be honest, I can not tell. See no difference in tractor operation.

IF it's broke, there's chunks of metal laying some place.

One of my tinker toy tractors broke the diff lock, it's gear drive and I got the chunks of metal out by changing the gear oil in the tranny, putting my finger up in the hole on the bottom of the tranny, feeling for and sliding all the chunks out that I could get out.
