Bro-Tek Skid Plate cost

I'm thinking of buying a 2005 BX2230 but wouldn't consider owning one without a skid plate to protect the hydrostat fan. I need to know the approximate cost of the Bro-Tek mmm skid plate. The cost will help me determine what to offer for the tractor. I've tried contacting Bro-Tek but get a response saying they are on vacation til Mar 4. Would rather not wait that long to close the deal on the tractor.

I got a quote mid Oct 2012 for both front and rear $280.00 inc shipping

I believe my rear skid plate was about $180 or so about four years ago, so maybe $200 or so at current prices.

I got the rear for my BX 25 last February for $180 and the front was listed for $110, shipping and handling included. That was using the 2012 price list that I was sent when I requested info.

Were you ever able to contact Bro-Tek? I've sent a couple of letters with no response... I'm hoping they are not gone as I'd like to get their ripper/tooth (then weld my own hardened claw onto it ;->) Maybe they just don't like my name. ?

Try MIE's 'CLAW' /ripper tooth, made to fit any hoe. Michigan Iron & Equipment. I have a custom designed one, with teeth included that is AWESOME!!

To the OP- Duh, sorry- I must have lost track of what it is I was replying about. I started out thinking skid plate, then I lost track and shifted over to ripper claws, which I believe both Brotek and MIE manufacture. I gathered up some pics of mine FWIW, so I'm going to include them just for grins. Note the pics include the hydraulic thumb, also from MIE in this instance.

BTW, I started reading this thread because I am interested in a skidplate for my DK- series Kioti too. To date no-one has designed or implemented one for that application...



The above pic is on the bench before install.
The rest are installed and from various angles to show different features including the shovel feature as well as the custom designed teeth on my particular "CLAW" which I worked with Bob at MIE to design for me. It works GREAT!
