After much research, I recently bought a Brinly 40" lawn dethatcher at Home Depot. I used it today for the first time on my half acre plus lawn and can't believe how well it works:thumbsup: I put a little bit of weight on the back and was in awe over how much dead grass it raked up. Another plus is that it was incredibly easy to assemble.

I have a Brinly lawn sweeper that I tow behind my tractor. I also found it easy to assemble, pretty good quality and it does a great job, too. I've used it for two falls, although last year wasn't much of a test... we had a freak rain/wind event that brought ALL the leaves down in one day, so I only put a few hours on it last year. The year before I used it several weekends in a row. It worked great.

I also have an Agrifab 48" tine dethatcher and an Agrifab 48" plug aerator that I can recommend.
