Wondering if there are any break away fittings available for my grapple hydraulic hoses. The lines for the grapple need slack and hang in an area that could become entangled in brush. Also I was removing the grapple once already and forgot to disconnect the hoses. No damage but could have been serious. Quite often I need to use the bucket instead of the grapple. Grapple is a new attachment for me. What do you other grapple owners do to protect your grapple hoses?

I used a 2 hose clamp block and replaced the bolt in it with an eye-bolt and use a bungee cord from the eye to the grapple to keep all the slack up & on the grapple side. As you curl it - the bungee stretches and the hoses pay out.

As for forgetting to unhook it - After the first time you won't forget anymore (at least I haven't yet lol). Thankfully I didn't take off 90 MPH so it wasn't a hard jerk and no damage done.

There certainly is. Use two female double acting sleeve couplers mounted by either a custom made clamp or a stock clamp that holds the sleeve for that purpose.

Ordered the pioneer setup that Luke linked to. They are on sale now I guess. Got them for $99 plus $8 and change shipping. Should be just what I need. Thanks for everyone's help. Will post back when I get it installed.

I should take a picture of it. I have a solid block with a couple of 3/8" pipe nipples that go through it. The hoses couple to one end of the nipple and the flat face couplers on the other. The nipple can be bent or mangled and can easily and cheaply be replaced.

The valve splits the third function to run my hyd SS coupler.

I have ripped the lines off twice, mostly from hoses ending up in the wrong place on large swing tools. Now, I try and put excess hose on a large spring, and that has been 100% successful.

Remember that the (break away) couplings won't come apart if not pulled straight out. That is rarely the case with front mount attachments.

That is a really great price.
