Tractor
Branson 3620h
Hello and thanks for the add. I’m very new to the compact tractor scene. 7 years ago I bought some property in the country in need of much help.I’ve done all my ground work by hand to this point, and I’m tired.
So, last month I did some research and ordered a new Branson 3620h. My neighbor is a Kubota guy and said I should cancel and get a Kubota L 3901 instead. Price is a serious point with me. So did I make the right choice?
Branson just seemed like a better tractor for the money

If it was me.... stick with the Branson. I am going to get a bunch of crap for sayin' this, but.... Kubota's are good tractors, but way overpriced for what you get... or don't get for your money. Just my opinion.

I would buy a Branson, or LS, or Kioti before buying a JD or Kubota. I am definitely prejudiced against both.... long story....

No mistake on your part at all!
At this point in time the Branson would be my choice over the kubota Based on my experiance and what I have seen when looking at them I would choose the Branson over the Kubota and the decision would not be based on price!

It depends on your intentions. Do you anticipate trading or selling sometime, or keeping it forever? The Kubota may cost more new but will bring a higher percentage in resale value.

I’d stay with the Branson if you’ve already placed your order. I prefer Kubota but, Branson is a good tractor and it’ll serve you well.

Here we go again! This is still the biggest misconception going!
You will not make more on a percentage basis and never really have.
When ever I do the math based on cost from new it seems the percentage works out even.

They are both good tractors. I wouldn't say they are exactly equal, but they don't cost the same either. If cost is an issue, the Branson certainly has the upper hand. If cost isn't an issue, buy the Kubota. You can do anything with the Branson that you can with a Kubota. I don't think reliability is a problem with either brand. Status might be a concern if you are into that kind of thing. Sort of like owning a Chevy compared to a Cadillac. They will both likely get you there trouble free.

The 3901 is not even in the same class of tractors with the 20 series Branson. The Branson is a heavier and more capable unit. To be in the ballpark of size and capability, you are probably talking Kubota Grand L or MX/M series.

There are a lot of factors, but when I place my order, it will be on the best value for the closest equivalent machines. Resale is a highly overrated concern. It assumes facts not in evidence as you cannot predict if the market will be as it is today or different in the x number of years before you hypothetically sell.

I did not initially even consider Branson, but now the top two on my list are Branson and TYM. I will give them all a chance to make me the best offer. Don't look back and enjoy your purchase!

Dealer support (parts, service, warrenty work) should be part of the conversation also.If you have a well established branson dealer I would not be afraid to purchase the tractor.

You made a great decision. After you get your Branson, I bet your neighbor will be impressed. Branson may be his next tractor.🤣
