Branson 4720h oil resovoir on front cover?

What is this tank? What oil do you fill this tank with?

It's just an alternate oil fill location. Goes to the crank case just like the one on top. Depending on what the engines installed in and which one is easier to access

Exactly what Fixastuff said. Just an alternate location to fill the engine with oil. In some applications, one of the fill ports may get blocked with a bracket or something, like mini excavators usually have the valve cover mostly blocked.

I use that location to fill oil as access to the the fill cap on the valve cover is blocked by the DPF. It's not just a fill point though. The shop manual shows an oil pump inside that part of the case.

Tried to be brief and to the point. I used the picture to show I already looked in the manual. The tank shows in the pictures but nothing is labeled or written about it nor any capacities or type of fluid required. It has a cap, is empty. Smells like oil. So; anyone seen, used it, knows what it is for?

It might be best if you let someone else work on your tractorjk and good luck. If that area is "full" with oil your engine is super super overfilled.

Been sitting at another property 2 years. Finally able to get it back. Cranks but not starting yet. Stilk checking the fuel lines. Oil changed and not overfilled.Just did not want to proceed to start if that extra fill tank needed some type of fluid. I thought i very strange that the manuel has zero reference about it. Got good responses here. TY

Yikes, too bad that it’s been so long since you’ve been able to play with your tractor. Obviously make sure that the battery is charged up so that it can crank fast enough to hopefully start. If no fuel additives used prior to storage you might have some diesel bug issues. If possible drain all the fuel and change the fuel filter, bleed the system with fresh diesel and hope it fires up. Let us know…
