Oil & Fuel Branson 4520R Oil Change Frequency

Forgive me if this has already been discussed but I have a question about oil change frequency for my Tier 4 4720R. I am coming up on 100 hours on the engine. I started using Rotella T6 15W-40 at the 50 hour service and plan to stick with it in the future.

The owner's manual says oil change at 100 hours & every 100 hours thereafter & the oil filter every 300 hours. My expensive service manual says oil change & filter every 250 hours. My local dealer says every 50 hours for the oil & 300 hours for the filter and has no answer for the discrepancy between the owner's manual and the service manual (or the dealer's practice).

Is there a consensus out there??

Welcome to TBN. I've only seen on Branson manuals to change the engine oil and filter every 250 hours after the first 50 service.

The Owners manual that came with my tractor, which is actually for the 25 series, also says 250 hours.

The 8050 is every 100 hours for oil and 300 for the filter,
I do them both around the 100 mark, using the factory filter and Rotella T6 5W-40.
It always amazes me to see a recommendation to use an old dirty filter with fresh new oil.

Change my oil every year regardless of the hours (don’t put many hours on it anymore - easily under 50 a year nowadays). Same with all my equipment; oil is cheap relative to the equipment cost in my opinion

Ok so as a service manager for one of the larger Branson dealerships in texas i have to say this is what we do here for services and what we were instructed to do per the factory.
first service is at the 50 hour mark, this is a break-in oil change your Engine oil & filter get changed, your transmission/ hydraulics and filter(s) are changed and your front axle gear oil should be changed, as well as greasing your tractor & Loader and checking all your nuts & bolts for tightness, after that the next service is at 100 hours its you engine oil & filter( Guys if your changing your oil change your filter Branson does not say anywhere to keep the old filter when you change your oil just a friendly piece of advise, and to save yourself some hassle in the future if your changing the fluid its always a good idea to change out the filter.) from this point on your service schedule should look like this, 200 hours engine oil and filter, 300 hours full service all fluids and filter including the fuel filter for the first time. then it repeats front there 400 & 500 hour marks engine oil & Filter, 600 hours Full Service All fluids and filters. it just repeats from this point on but hopefully that should help.

Got called away so I'll edit this by adding on what I was going;
This schedule called for the 50 hr engine oil and engine oil filter,
then just the engine oil at 100 hr, 200 hr.
Then at 300 hrs the engine oil and engine oil filter, then it repeats
400 and 500 hrs just the oil and 600 oil and filter.

Needless to say this was not followed oil and filter at 50, 100, 200, 300 and so on,
actual some times it didn't even get the full 100 hours as if it was close it gets changed fall and spring.

I definitely agree with changing filters with fluid! I also agree with yearly if less than 100 hrs per year. I will be changing my hydraulic fluid earlier than usual on the Kioti because I want to run the same in both tractors. The new Branson will dictate which brand. I will be using the grapple on both and don't like mixing brands.
