My father-inlaw has a Branson 4020 with an electrical problem. Basically if you turn on the lights, turn signals, hazard lights, shift into reverse (reverse light) or step on the brake. All the lights dim and the gas gauge goes to empty. The battery and alertnator are fine. I have disconnected the multif and the lights dimunction light//horn switch and hitting the brakes still does in the gauges. I also disconnected the brake light switches and had the same problem by switching on the lights.
So I've eliminated, battery, alternator, multifiunction switch, and brake light switches. I've also started checking grounds.
If it was a short large enough to pull down the electrical system I would expect a blown fuse or some melted insulation or at least smoke. It is not doing any of that even after a couple of minutes.
I'm fresh out of ideas. My father-inlaw says it seemed that moving the steering column helped for a while but not anymore.
Thanks in advance!
