Woke up last night and the tractor was "alive" out in the yard /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif. turn signal lights on, sometimes flashing, and a buzzing coming from the tractor. We've had a lot of rain recently and I had not put the tarp on. I read an earlier post about this very issue. Has anyone heard if there is a "fix" either Branson bulletin related or otherwise? I just went out at 1am and pulled the 10 amp hazard fuse to shut it up....I am truly unimpressed with the combination light/horn switch on the tractor. If I were designing tractors I would use simple (preferably a sturdier plastic or metal), dirt and waterproof toggle switches or buttons..my .02.

Hello, sounds like the switch or the control relay is bad. If you replace the switch coat the back side of it with silicone caulk before you pop it back into the dash. I have seen a few of the switches do that when they get moisture in them. Though the fact that you say you here a buzzing sound makes me think maybe the relay. Davestractor, what do you think?

These tractors are just like a puppy left out in the storm. They get cold and lonely and want attention. To get it, they start flashing like mad. We should just feel lucky that they don't start honking. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Like Chipperman said, either the switch or the relay up under the dash is wet. Dry them out (or let them dry out) and then spray silicone spray on them and that normally takes care of it as it causes the water to run off. If not, then seal up the offending part with silicone caulking. Normally that solves the problem for good.

There is a relay up under the dash just to the left of the steering wheel that was doing the buzzing. I assume thats the hazard flasher relay (since pulling the hazard fuse stopped it...although my battery is dead today)? How do you get to that area. Just remove the bolts around the meters or do I have to remove the larger plastic shroud? I will try spraying with silicone and also keep something draped over the dash area to fend off some of the water....now to charge the battery and get some grass cut before it rains again!

If it starts levitating and spinning, then you have problems! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Maybe you got a cicada (or twenty) up under the hood. Much buzzing is going on in my tractor shed. See pic attached.

I had the same problem. The switch can be remover carefully from the front with a knife or screwdriver. Just take out the switch and let it dry out. Replace the switch in a couple of days and it will stop flashing. My dealer even had a couple of flashers in his lot one morning. Mine did it after I towed it on a trailer in the rain for about 90 miles.

THe other thing is the horn never did work (everything is connected just no noise...not that a horn on a tractor is so often used). I might just get the dealer to provide a new switch.

no horn on mine either, dealer acted suprised when he deliverd it and it didnt work. you would think he would be used to it by now, seems like a common problem. my whole switch froze and wouldnt move in the winter also. but no problems with lights coming on yet. im getting a portable garage to keep it in before problem begins. by the way is anybody else having trouble with hydralic hoses cracking, most spots on my tractor where the hoses bend they are cracked. is this a big deal or normal its only 6 months old.

Are you refering to the backhoe or loader hoses? Mine are definetely different brands of hoses. My backhoe is an Ameriquip 7620 which uses all Parker hydraulics whereas the loader appears to have the Weatherhead brand or something like it. they are the porous type of rubber vs. the slick Parker style. I already broke the long bucket hose on the hoe and had to get one made at NAPA. They use the Weatherhead so the hose looks like the kind on the loader (porous not slick)
