Hello fellas,
Looking at adding a 10’ pull type mower behind my 5075E to speed up clipping pastures and clearing heavy brush / saplings.
The dealer had an RC10R I was going to purchase for the heavier duty nature but it sold and was paid for yesterday. He offered me an HX10 that could be delivered Monday for 1000$ less-
From the pictures online of 2022/2023 HX10 pull type and RC10R I can’t see any differences other than decals.
The only differences I can find between the MX and HX is gearboxes and driveline. I like the HX over the MX here, the HX has a longer pto shaft hooked to the tractor with a smaller pro shaft connecting the carrier bearing to the splitter gearbox. The MX has a little stubby shaft between the carrier bearing with a long shaft to the splitter.
Does anyone have any more information about these that I am missing? Should I pay the extra 1k for the RC10R? If it’s only a sticker difference, I’ll pocket the difference.
I downloaded the operators manuals for both and they look practically identical. I looked at JD’s website and even the pictures look like the same but with photoshopped new model numbers.
I don’t know when JD officially changed the model numbers, but the MX8 they had looked identical to the RC8M and the RC5M looked identical to my MX6 at home. The serial number range for the HX10 and RC10R even overlap at 11500-current
Thanks in advance to anyone in the know.
