Hi mates,

I just took delivery on a gc2610 a week or so ago. I played with the backhoe a bit and let the wife and kid dig some. What a blast. However when I tried to raise and lower the mid mount mower I had no action. I called the dealer and he said it was "backhoe off" to adjust the mmm. So today I dropped the backhoe and loader to do some mowing and ... the three point does nothing. The lever feels like it is not attached - no resistance. I see the spring loaded link that looks like a feedback rod and attaches to the hydraulic arm on the 3ph. I am new to the tractor world so might be just ignorant of something. The rate of drop knob is in the mid position and the height control is in the mid position. The dealer told me red to yellow on the hoses so that is where I had the hoses when I tried the lift. I only ran it briefly afraid of damage. When I got no action I reinstalled the backhoe because I know it works and figure nothing is being damaged with it connected. Any help is much appreciated. I am ready to love my mower but not being able to raise and lower it is a drag. And I am ready to buy some implements too.

Thanks in advance.

G'day Bob and welcome to TBN straight on the 'phone to the dealer mate with this one if you are doing everything as he/she showed you then there may be a fault in the system. Any dealer worth his salt will want to come out and show you if you are doing something wrong if not to be able to see exactly what the fault is in the field. I have had to do this on numerous times sometimes it is the op sometimes the machine read your owners manual, does it say anything about operation?? But do not hesitate to ring the dealer and ask him if someone can call by and have a look they should not charge you for this

On mine, I hook up "blue to yellow." The proper tractor return hose has both a blue and yellow nylon ty-wrap on it to help make it clear.... when the backhoe's on, blue goes to blue, but for 3PH, blue connects to the yellow/blue tractor hose.
Hope this helps...

Sorry-- just went out and checked: it is the red-banded hose that hangs free. (This is also the only one with a rubber storage plug attached to it....)

I just picked up mine yesterday and was trying to find in the manual where the lift control lever should be when you have the BH attached. I can't remember if he said up or down? I do remember him telling me you have to remove the BH to use the lift control or remove the 3 pt. all together, if you want to leave the BH on to mow, to raise or lower the MMM. Otherwise he said you could damage the "jackshaft"?? Now I can't remember if he said lever down or up w/ BH on. I would think up but not sure. Does anyone know which is right?

I just went out and took the BH off and tried mine and nothing either! Will not go up or down, just flops up and down by hand. The MMM lift is down also but will not raise. Blue to Yellow is the way it is supposed to go per manual. Now I will check other things. Not sure why it won't work, wanted to try boxblade out today. Any ideas anyone? Thanks

I had the same problem...they have miss labelled the hoses on a quite a few GC's out of the gate recently.

Forget about colours and what hose hase the dust cap.... it could be wrong.

The sump line is the hose that is connected down low right at the back of the tractor and hangs straight out the back. This line is not used when the BH is off. The other two lines get connected together.

On mine the dust cap was incorrectly installed on the red line causing me some confusion. When I took the BH and connected the lines logically..... no 3pnt. Couldn't find anything in the book referring to colour just reference to power, return and sump lines.

There's only 2 possible combinations so I tried the other and viola!

But would the BH work properly if this is the case?

I guess I will go out now and try the other combo. The dust cap is on the red line on mine also. Hope this didn't shorten the life of the pump!

Agreed that it is strange if his 3pnt is not working with BH on.... but if he has the 3pnt arms installed and folded up it could stop the deck from lowering.

We may be looking at 2 different problems.
