I understand the need for safety as well as a reminder now and then. If you leave the seat of the 55 while it is running and not set the brake a loud beeping sound will continue until it is set. Usually I remember and it is no big problem. Now that I have a backhoe mounted on the tractor and have a very long trench to dig I would prefer to not set the brake and push it forward from the backhoe seat to continue digging. At 10 feet at a time and a 600 foot plus trench I would be jumping on and off the seat more times than I care to count. The ideal situation would be a switch that could eliminate the alarm for a task such as repetitive moves. That way it could be turned back on for non backhoe tasks.
The other problem is I don't like setting the brake after snow plowing in the winter when it is left in a non heated building. The condensation at some point may not want to release it after freezing.
Anyone have a good solution ?

Thought I'm not one for disabling safety devices.. I guess hypothetically speaking if one were to add an inline cutout switch to the beeper for when you use the backhoe? either passive somehow like an op presence switch .. or manual.. like a toggle switch???.. it may work..

By the way.. I'm -not- sugesting you disable your safety device.. etc.

Doesn't the 55 have wet disks, in the gearcase? Not much chance of brakes freezing, though linkages, etc. are susceptible, I suppose. My 2120 is put away wet in an unheated building after plowing, and never had brake problems. On the beeper, I sympathize.

Yes, I have a solution for that: I trade my TC55DA for yours ;), cause it doesn't beep and I wish I had that feature. I forgot about the darrn breaks a few times. LOL Anyhow, my 2004 is NOT beeping. It doesn't have that feature. But: If I have the engine running and the parking brake is not set, the engine turns itself off. However you should be able to fix that, by either unplugging the switch underneath the seat and put a jumper wire in, or take a piece of wood and jam it beween switch and seat, fooling the switch shut all the time.
Best idea is running a pair of wires up to the front hooked to some sort of a safety switch that gives you the option to either turn that safety switch on the seat on or off.
Another option is to disconnect that buzzer.

I have to hit the repair / service manual to see if I can switch the alarm for the backhoe mode. Don't know why they need two rockers for low and high beam lights. ( a double position switch sure would work well. ) Going down the road ( which is like never for me ) the bucket is in the way blocking 60% of the illumination. Wouldn't it be nice to not be so worried how the hood style looks and place the lamps at the top so they could be of some use ?
They did a great job of engineering the rest of the package and I shouldn't complain. Rops lighting and another switch should be a workable solution.

I think the alarm stop's after 10 seconds if you have the shuttle in nuetral check and see .It might not be as bad to put up with like that.

I was trenching with mine today and had it in neutral and beep stopped after 10 seconds and i was able to push myself around no problem and no brake.
