I finally got the PTO shaft off the 3pt Bradco 612 trencher I acquired last fall. Blowtorch, hammers & dragging an 800lbs implement around by a chain on the PTO shaft finally did the trick. Now I need to replace the way to short (and now possibly messed up) PTO shaft. The input to the trencher is a round shaft with a keyed slot rather than the standard splined shaft or round shaft with a sheer pin hole. If I put the PTO shaft the input & output shafts, they are several inches from touching, so WAY to short.
Bradco wants a grand or so for their shaft & I think it's the same length as the one I just finally pulled off.
Anybody know of a source for a 1 3/8" round keyed PTO shaft, clutch or adapter to a standard interface? Is there some search term or name for this interface I'm missing? I haven't been able to find anything on Agri Supply's website or anywhere else. I might be able to try & replace the shaft sections from the yoke on down, but I'm not sure how much damage the clutch part took heating & beating it off. I'd rather replace it with something standard, but would likely look at the rebuild & modify route if my only option is a grand for that OEM one.
