My landpride boxblade was just delivered today, and trying to put it on my BX is like wrestling a bear... Is there a trick to get it off and on easly without having to persuading it with a rubber hammer and a few wrestling moves????

Thanks in advance for any help...

A 6 foot wrecking bar helps to move it around and a short fat bar to line up the ball sockets will help. but it is not an easy job.

With a little practice putting on 3pt implements is real easy. I put on the toplink first then adjust the length to tip the implement toward or away from the tractor as needed to slide the bottom links on. You may still have to kick the bottom links on a little but not very much. Lining the tractor up to the center of the implement and lining up the lower arms to approximately where the pins are is really the first step to getting the implement on easy. Keeping the lift pins lubricated helps too(WD40). Some people have such a hard time attaching implements that they go to great length like wheeled carts, quick hitches, and extendable lower link arms. I do admit the next tractor I get will have adjustable lower link arms. Wrestling with an implement is a losing battle.

On my BX1800, the swivels on the end of the 3ph arms seemed to have cosmoline or very thick grease on them. I used WD 40 and a bar to rotate them until they were somewhat free. After that, I just back up close and grunt the boxblade into position and push the arms on to the pins with my foot.

I had a 6 foot boxblade left over from the ford 2000 and after a little thought and trying to use it on the BX2200 I decided to cut it down to 4 foot so it would fit the bota a little better.
That was not the best idea I've ever had, as some of the parts of the unit didn't cut so well. But after a lot of melting and cutting and grinding and rewelding I now have a 4 foot box blade for the bota. You can see the 6 foot Steel bar laying by the cut boxblade. see photo

This photo shows it assembled as a 4 foot unit before painting
and I have found some Kudota orange and it now matches the BX2200

Nice job.... Looks like a brand new BB.... Do you know what the final weight was once it was cut down?

Nope. I don't have any way to weigh it, but it feels like I cut about 100 pounds off, The bota is a lot happier with it now.

Turn the pins inward. J

I have the bottom pins facing inward. Does it help to connect the top linkage first and use the hydraulics to help get the bottom pins lined up, or do you find it better to connect the bottom pins first?

Whoops, I did not think before I typed... The hydraulics are on the lower arms....

I did notice that the ball joints in the lower arms were a little stiff, I will oil them and see if it helps.... I didn't help that it was pouring down raining also.
