My B2320 specs out maximum weight for boxblade 375 lbs. and rotary cutter at 405 lbs. Would the difference in weight be due to extra drag weight of materials in boxblade and power needed to use scarifiers ?

My thinking is, they are not figuring drag weight for material because you are not actually picking up the drag material. If you use a heaver box blade then maybe they feel when you hit something to hard backwards then the 3pt tractor parts will be more prong to brake then the box blade.

They are giving more weight for the rotary cutter because all you should be doing is cutting.

It is actually harder on a tractor to lift a rotary cutter because of the lenght rotary cutters extend beyond the 3pt lift arms.

Seems logical. Gonna be hard for me to find a 5 ft that comes close to 375 lbs and still is more than light duty. I 'd like 5 ft so it extents a bit outside of rear tires. I wonder who might makes such a thing.

I can only speak for myself, but I use equipment on my BX2660 beyond what the manual recommends and don't worry about a few pounds one way or the other. I used a 5" box blade on a BX2200 for years because that is what I had.

Kubota has historically been very conservative on their implement size recommendations. I guess it only makes good business sense for them to minimize their liabilities. If you are not abusive with your equipment, do a little reading here and it will show you can get by with a bit more than Kubota recommends.

yep, I 'm thinkin' in that direction too. I don 't over work equipment and usually ask less of it than it probably can do. I 'm thinkin' 10-20 lbs ain 't gonna matter much.

Sailorman I think you are getting the idea, I would up the 10-20 lbs to 100-200 lbs though.
