box scraper hydraulic scarifier bar stuck

I have a Gearmore 2G1 box scraper with a retract with the scarifier bar; until this week it was great and now it is stuck in the down & locked position.

WHen down, there is a locking pin that is pushed down through a collar and holds the bar in place.

The pin is now stuck in the down position, I've tried to clear out the debris I could see from the top, added penetrating oil & hitting it from below (with no pressure in the system) and it won't budge.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Was able to fix it yesterday.

The first thing I had to do is clear out the area around the pin from the top by removing the linkage that pushes the pin down.

Since penetrating oil didn't do anything for me (see orig post) I decide to use diesel fuel -- which did a great job in only about 10 minutes.

AT that point I was able to use some think wire to move some grit out of the way. Turns out some material got into the top area and when pushed down by the linkage actually forced the pin lower than designed as well as caused it to be off-set by a small bit.

As a result of it being offset, it wouldn't return to the normal position. Using an old screwdriver I was able to push the pin back into position.

After putting some grease down the pin area everything is back to normal.
