I use a box plow on my skid steer to plow a gravel driveway. The problem is that I can't tell when the shoes are parallel to the surface. If I curl the plow back too far I then scrape off a ton of gravel. As a solution I was thinking of extending the skid shoes so they were closer to the machine. Thoughts? Anybody try this on their plow?

I don't have a pusher, but the ones I have seen have skid shoes that cover the entire depth of the box. My rear blower had real short OEM shoes that sound similar to what you are describing. I put some skid shoes on it that were designed for a much larger blower (and different brand) that are about 12" long. They worked great in our NE blizzard last year.
