I have bent the box blade pieces that connect the A frame to the lift pins. this is proabably the third time I have done it and I do not wish to heat and bend them straight again. In the attached pic of a similar unit I copied off this site, these parts are colored black on the LH side.
does anyone know where I can get these replacements. My box is an Independence Manuf. out of KS from 40 yrs ago. but I believe other brand would probably fit. any help?

Are you talking about the pieces of flat steel that connect the center link to the lower hitch pins? The one that has two opposing bends at each end, and a hole?

Any metal fab shops in your area? I'd be looking into getting something that doesn't bend. Either larger bar stock or welding some additional support on them.

Could try the King Kutter website. Under PDF Manual Library choose Parts manual and download. That manual has part numbers for all there equipment including box blades. Looks like you can order parts online or call them.

you are correct; and I agree that is a suitable option. I will go with that if I do not find a replacement part. these pieces are 3/8 thick or more and even though they can be straightened and beefed up, it is not that easy to get them to the same size so that the blade sits square & level when done. thanks

There is no part for that. It looks like you ripped the square tube. Just bent it back and weld some more support pieces, like 1/2 by 2 in on front top, and bottom rear. Do this for all if you have the material.

How about a top side picture.

Maybe, I'm confused, but it appears the draft link pins attach to the orange bar and that that bar would set the alignment / levelness of the BB. If the black bar going to the center link were off, it seems it would just shift the centerlink to one side or the other.

I'm sure I'm over analyzing something, hopefully you can find a suitable replacement. It would probably be cheaper than getting one made.

It looks like he either hit something and the shanks broke the holding link at the top, and there was enough slop to force it at that angle, or as I said before, it bent or busted out the metal at the top and bottom, any of which can be fixed.

40ys old? I'd MAKE new parts.. and beef them up.. or repair the old ones again AND beef them up.

heat, beat, torch, welder, + scrap iron= good piece of farm equipment!
