box blade ck 20

I'M looking for a used box blade or perhaps a back blade for the CK-20. I suppose a 6 footer would be too big. Any thoughts out there about this

Four foot is a bit small unless you have really thick clay soil. Five foot is about right for most uses. Six feet definitely too wide and heavy for the CK20 IMO.

50 to 60". Nothin bigger unless sand for a box. 6' for a scraper blade.

I use a 5' with mine,it works well, I had a 5' back blade as well but sold it once I got the BB , I find for my purposes it works much better....Craig

Around here the soil is so rocky I can't dig a 2ft hole without hitting a 4ft boulder...

I have a 48" box blade and feel it works great! Grading the driveway which is 1ft of 3/4" crushed gravel, I can fill the box blade and still drag it. Any larger and it would probably lose traction or power before filling up.

I am pulling a 5 Foot with my CK20s. Works fine, any larger might be a problem. Need to keep an eye on the adjustments to ensure they do nor rub on wheels. Any wider and I think it would become a serious problem.

Dmace, does your 48" box have three or four rippers? I can get one that looks very similar it looks very similar to yours and it's 48". It all that is available but it is so far away. Can you give me the brand of yours and have you had any bending issues. I have heard some are easy to bend up. I have a combination of rocks sizes as my terrain is all gravel. I will be using primarily for crushed gravel spreading and to maintain a driveway or spreading black dirt.

Mine is a United Box Blade model 448HD which I got from my local Kioti dealer. It has 4 scarifers (teeth) and is VERY rugged. I work the heck out of it and nothing has ever bent or broken.

When I'm grading and hit a rock that stops the tractor, I simply pull up on the 3pt hitch lever and it pulls the rock right out of the ground.

I have the same united bb as dmace , it works great for my heavy clay and sandstone that is under it ! I have used my 6' bb on the ck 20 but only for leveling out top soil no digging

Thanks for all the excelllent observations. I will be watching craig's list and the first good four or five foot used Box Blade that shows up within 60 miles from the house and I will try to obtain. Still plenty of time before the snow's gone so the space is occupied with the snowblower.
