First of all, thanks to First of all, thanks to everyone that help me make my decision! It was such an agonizing process. I started here with a question about which sub-compact and you guys were nice enough to talk me into an extra $3500 worth of machine. After only a month I sure am happy for it.

Anyway, I suppose I have the obligatory pic to post so here it is. The wife was complaining that the snow banks made the drive too narrow so I thought I would cut the banks right to the edge. Too bad I couldn’t see where the edge was under the snow.

I got a little to close and started to slide down the bank. Every move I made seemed to make it worse. Finally I got hooked on the tree and couldn’t move at all. All I could do is watch my new machine get all scratched up as I traded paint with the tree.

You guys never mentioned that it would be this much FUN!!!!

At least you weren't hurt and no damage done. {Except to the ego}

Ahh, no big deal. A year or two ago I was up against some trees just like that. Funny thing about 4WD, it helps if it is engaged. Anyway, no harm done? and go have some more fun.

Yea, that's what I like to do dent and scratch my stuff early, then and only then is when I can start enjoying it without being overly ****.

Like the say, any tractor mishap you can walk away from with all you hands and feet is a good mishap.

Well now you got your first battle scar which means nothing can stop you now. ;)

Just add to your list after mud season make driveway wider...will make the Mrs. happy and more seat time for you. :)

May take little longer,but try useing the frontend loader to push back the banks,that way if you get hung up again 9 times out of 10 the frontend loader can push you out of trouble.

Your mishap reminds me my first day with my former BX23. The dealer delivered the tractor and believe it or not, 1 hour later I was stuck big time in a mud pit. Deeply enough to have mud leveled with the deck. I was lucky to have a loader and a backhoe to "swim" out of that... brown thing. I took the whole next day to wash the tractor and I couldn't clean all the mess. OK, it was brand new for an hour.

Those things happen. You're safe and sound, that's the important point. It means... don't do that again! ;)
