Hello
Well I drove 10 hours in -25 C to purchase a preowned LS tractor from a non LS dealer looked great tried it out (pushed some snow) loaded it up on the trailer and headed home.
Got home (next day)started to look it over and noticed the FEL was a model LL4100 started to check it out and now I see it is not the best but here's the issue the Dealer said it was a 2012 model year ! well from what I can find out it is not it's a 2011 or maybe a late 2010 ? now i'm going from a very old Massey 65 gas that had a Massey 90 loader with a very small bucket so not to sure if I will be disappointed or not? anyway it's winter and just pushing snow for now.

Anybody have anything to say about this loader LL4100 ?

Going to phone the Dealer where I bought it and see what he has to say

Check the tractor over for tags and VIN plates. Some have the date of manufacture on the tag. If not, you can contact LS direct from their website for info about your tractor. Email or phone them with your model and serial number and they should be able to provide you with the year it was made. Website says the loader on a 4041H is an LL4101. Is LL4100 an older loader? I don't know, but the lift capacity should be the same (about 2500). What would your concerns be or why should you be disappointed? 2010,2011,or 2012 shouldn't make a difference as long as hours are pretty low and maching was maintained properly.

I did send in the SER# but no reply, from what I found the LL4100 is the older model before LL4101 with smaller cylinders (less lifting and tilting power) not to sure on the frame or mounts.
Used it today for the first time and all works great I really like it but after about 15 minuets the loader frame right side front was moving so stopped and sure enough two of the bolts were broken off ! so now off comes the loader and mounts to see how much damaged to the bolt holes.
Thanks George

WOW!!! Sorry to hear about the breakage after only 15 minutes of use. It may be possible the previous owner never checked or re-tightened them causing them (loose bolts) to fail. Hopefully it will be an easy fix and you just replace them and continue on. I doubt the selling non LS dealer will know anything about LS loaders, or any other parts. Was there any warranty given by the non LS dealer. Maybe he'll be on the hook for not checking them before selling to you.

I wonder if they were the factory bolts or if they were bolts the previous owner put in. Maybe not the proper grade. Anything can be fixed right or better.

Every brand needs the loader to frame bolts torqued to proper spec every 10-20 hrs. of use. Hopefully you received a manual with the torque chart.

I just tightened mine a while ago and some turned a bit. On mine if your talking about the 3 or so big (22mm I think) bolts that go through the heavy loader upright parts ... I think those were around 110ft. lbs.

The chart for my loader angers me as the mm size for the socket in the chart doesn't match reality. I guess what matters is you look at the grade of the bolt and look up the fine/course thread chart and it gives a torque spec. Some are fun to get at.

Oh, and the 4041 frame is same a 4047 I think ... plenty strong ... just keep up on proper maintenance and it will be a workhorse and serve you well.

Sorry I can't help with the LS loader, but welcome to the site. Great bunch of folks and they are always willing to help if they can.

I too had a 1959 MF65 gas tractor with loader but sold it as it was starting to get hard for parts. Ended up buying my Jinma to replace it.

Hope you get the problems sorted out - could be that proper maintenance wasn't always done on time.

There is another chap on this site who lives in Woodpecker and has an older JD open station tractor.

Cheers

Thank you everyone for the information I see now all the bolts were not tight so the mount is of and now to remove the broken bolts, I think I can add a extra bracket on each side to help but as some of you said regular tightening or checking the bolts is what is needed.
Other than this problem the Tractor so far is great.

Oh my son was a Kubota Technician for seven years and he said that when they had loader bolts that kept coming loose it was caused from not taking off the Factory paint from the two contact areas ,once it was cleaned off and bolts retightened they had no more problems!

I have a Manual for the tractor but not one for the LL4100 loader
