Needed to replace our very old, and nearly worn out Case/David Brown 990. The farm is a hilly place, so something lower to the ground, 4x4, and with a little more weight behind it was desirable. This one has 369 hours on it

Real nice find with that low of hours, do you know the history of its use at all? I've got a couple 545d's bought used each with about 1600hours. Like them a lot, very heavy duty for there compact size. Does your torque converter lock up button on the end of the forward/reverse lever work? One of mine didn't so I replaced it, little pricey but absolutely worth doing. Saves a lot of fuel by dropping your rpms when traveling, noise too. There's 2 zerts on the 2 u-joints on the front pump driveshaft from engine. I think they get overlooked on a lot of those tractors, I access them from left side below alternator, cramped quarters but a job to replace if they're not greased. What kind of jobs will u be using it for?

Nice looking machine! I had a 545d that o really liked. Ended up selling it because I wasn't using it enough. Tough machines.

So it was used in PA to load mulch during the summers at a garden store. Apparently they didn't sell much mulch. I need to test the torque converter lockup when I'm back at the farm. I had them truck it down and my dad drove it up the mountain to park it in the barn. Should be back in a few weeks and give my full review. I'll be sure to hit those zerks, as well as all the others, user maintenance guide should be waiting for me at home. I have one of those great Dewalt 20V greasers and it makes it so easy to do it right. We also own a Schaeff HS41M (Terex these days) spider excavator, and nothing I've ever owned remotely compares to the number of grease points on that monster!

In terms of it's use, it will be used a good bit with a scrapper blade and land plane for gravel road maintenance. I maybe using it with a 88" flail mower from time to time to mow our pastures to keep weeds under control etc. Otherwise some general loader work.

I'm thinking it could be very useful to have a grapple on the bucket, does anyone know if that was a factory option?

There was a valve option as they had a 4-in-1 bucket option. The joystick for that valve would mount on the right side of the steering column (raised up off the floor).
