bought 3 new suzuki atvs

Hi Guys,
I went to an auction that was selling out a motorcycle shop that went belly up last week. I bought 3 suzuki 4 wheelers. One was a quad sport 250 cc. 2004. Brand new. Other two are ozark 250cc
quads. Auctioneer said they list for $3,800.00.
I gave $2,200.00 ea. Good Price????? all were brand new 2004s. Small print was an additional 17% buyers premium. Also paid sales tax. Total for all 3 was $8,200.00.
Now, one other question. I bought a new trailer to bring them home. 10 ft. X 6 ft. Will carry two at a time.
Trailer tires were aired to proper pressure. Trailer whipped extremely bad above 40 mph. I believe it was tail heavy after loading. Will this cause the whipping? Thanks, Rick

It most definitely will. I learned that scary lesson when I was 16, pulling a trailer with a '46 Chevy. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif I didn't wreck it, but I sure have made sure I had some tongue weight since then. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Yes, that's a real good price.
Bird is absolutely correct on tongue weight. Not sure what you were towing it with but for what you were pulling, I'd guess you should have 175-200# minimum.

I also agree,great price ,tongue weight and trailer being level won't hurt either but not as critical as tongue weight. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Hi Guys,
I cut out the side rail on the trailer so I could load the 4 wheelers cross ways on the trailer, and now there is more tongue weight. Fixed the whipping problem. Thanks for the info. Time to go play!!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
