Thanks to Everyone , who replied. You Guys are great!!! I'm thinking about antifreeze in the tires, and I think I still want the blade. Thanks

If you are really concerned about weight for mowing around your house (I read your post under the other category), you need to consider that filled tires are going to make a big difference in the weight on your 'lawn'.

Steelfan, I always use my loader and rear blade in combination for snow removal work. Loaders are no good for plowing except on level pavement (they tear up the roadbed), blades are great for snow plowing - I like to plow with the blade in reverse (backblade) -it just skims the snow and doesn't cut into the road bed or gravel. I use the loader to move and stack snow.

Thanks for Everyone's help!!!!! The blade is an inexpensive item. I'll going to buy one, and see how it works. Don't really want to add permanent weight to the tractor becuase of mowing. Thanks again.

Steelfan,
I use both when I am pushing snow. If you use the self-leveling on the loader you won't push in and scrape your gravel. I can push forward and back and cut my time significantly compared to only having a loader. If all you are going to do with it is push snow you can pick up a rear blade for a little over a $100.

steelfan, I also use the loader/blade (7ft) combination. The loader alone is no good 'cause except for the first pass it won't windrow the snow but works great for stacking the snow as the winter progress's and you run out of room. If you get at least a medium duty it's also heavy enough to be pretty good ballast. I do a fair amount of loader work with the blade and it works fine. If I really max out, (which I can with wet sand), I could use a little more weight back there but if I'm careful and slow the blade is enough.

Thanks again to you Experts!!! I'm grateful to have found this place. I'm sure of getting the blade now. I'll find extra weight if I need it. I'm thinking of adding to the rear weight along with the blade. Thanks again!!!!
