Well it's been a few years and I was wondering how other owners of the Boomer 8N are feeling about their tractors.

Mine has been a monument in front of the barn for about 3 months now.

Plus I still have 13 months worth of $727 zero interest payments left!

It's been a few days now without comments here.

Does this mean that I am the only original owner still using their 2010 Boomer 8N ?

I've got a Boomer 50, which I understand is functionally equal to the 8N except I've got a hydro tranny instead of your CVT. Had it almost three years and still like it.

Hey thanks for the reply!

Does your Boomer 50 s have the ADIC (computer)?

Have you ever seen 'RP" on the LCD display (release pedal).

This thing has left me stuck in the middle of the road with a round bale on the spear.

How do you put yours in gear?

On mine there is a little shuttle lever that you push forward or backward and then the computer decides if the tractor is going to move or not.

Can you park it and leave it in gear so it does not roll? Not mine, you have to put the bucket down and pull the handbrake for all it's worth.

Now even if I can get it to move I won't go off the property.

I do not have the computer. There is mechanical 3-speed gearbox for low, medium and high range, and then there is the hydrostatic drive. When parked, the hydro does not let the tractor move as long as the mechanical box isn't in neutral.

Well, I suppose that leak-by somewhere in the system would let it roll down hill very, very slowly, but I have not observed that so far. Then again I don't park on steep ground much. If there is much slope where I'm parking I'll park perpendicular to the slope just to be safe.

I do notice that the parking brake seems weak at best.

Your Boomer 50 is a totally different machine from the Boomer 8N.

We have a little over 6 month old 2013 Boomer 3050cvt with 338 hours on it and yes all of the above sounds familiar, but I would also ask does your power steering sometimes not work at all and have a constant gurgling /cavitation noise? Do you have an intermittent long delay after turning on the pto before it starts to actually spin? Does yours give you stop code 2059 from time to time or a stop code 2054 which makes you shut off the tractor and restart so you can move again? Does yours have intermittent long delays when shuttling forward to reverse and reverse to forward? Does yours make a loud squealing noise and jerking motion when trying to hookup implements at low rpms? Does your loader sometimes chatter when raising it like the hydraulic oil is low or aerated? Does your transmission dipstick get covered with large bubbles after using it awhile (foam/aeration of the hydraulic oil)? Did a NH field rep advise your dealer to over fill your transmission by 3.5 gallons to hopefully fix some of the problems and that the aeration/foam in the transmission was not a problem? Does your transmission sometimes stick in forward or reverse even though you shifted into neutral or the opposite direction (fun when dumping over a steep banking-pucker power)? Does your tractor sometimes lockup when you push into a pile and the only way to release it so you can move again is to use the bucket to force your self up and back until you hear a snapping noise and it releases? Ours Does all the above along with what you described!!!!

Do you feel like NH has deserted you?? What good is an extended five year warranty if they won't fix the problems during the first 6 months!! Ours has been back to the dealer 4 times and the dealer has been here once.

Oh yes I definitely agree that the brake s**ks Ours rolled away on a hill with it on as hard as I could pull it up while standing on the brake and it didn't start rolling until I walked away from it (to bad it didn't destroy itself that time).

We have 5 and 1/2 years of payments left on this $50k piece of Junk and from what I'm told we are still underwater so can't trade it yet! Lately we leave it parked unless it's absolutely necessary for what is needed to be done. Otherwise we use the 1964 5000, the 1971 2110, or the 1991 6640 for day to day work at least they move forward and reverse when you ask them to, the pto works when you turn it on, these tractors don't lockup for no reason requiring a restart and the loader and power steering works without any issues!!!

That's also a very different machine from a Boomer 50. The Boomer 8N and Boomer 3040 were built by Shibaura, the Boomer 50 by LS.

Jackfr - I hear the gurgling and I even asked the rep about it he said it is normal.

No problem with the power steering. No PTO delay.

I get a yellow caution light from time to time which requires a reboot (turn off the key) right in the middle of whatever you were doing.

They have a word for that lock up when you push on something too hard and yes I get that but the reboot works there too.

I bought part of the service manual on ebay

For this tractor 2059 says shuttle lever switch disagreement.

2065 says +5 volt reference voltage too low. I have not experienced these.

The tractor has been at the dealer for several days and I am waiting to hear the verdict.

I don't have the extended warranty.

Love my 8n.

Oh wait, you guys are talking about something else. Yikes! Those things sure sound like duds. I can't believe NH would put out a product like that.
