Boomer 1030 fuel filter replacement?

I was just wondering what's the best way to go about replacing the fuel filter. Its an inline unit and was just wondering if I pinch off the hoses on each side and swap it out or is it a little more complex than that?

Reason for changing is that there was a slight miss when tractor goes up to PTO speed and I was told to swap the fuel filter first and see if that made a difference.

First let me say i have no detailed knowledge of your specific tractor model so what I'm about to say is pretty general for diesel fuel systems.



The normal procedure for changing a filter is to turn the fuel shut off at the tank off, then drain the filter housing and remove/replace the filter. turn on the fuel supply and open the bleeder at the top of the fuel filter untill no more air comes out of the bleeder. the tighten it down. If you are luck, it may start up right away. If not, you'll have to bleed the pump( if it has a bleed screw on it) and the injectors.
You might want to check the screen at the tank bottom for crud also.
