Ariens gt17, westwood ride on, kubota t710 tiller
Hello from an englishman in france, europe. New to the rural life, would have been comfortably retired if it wasn't for the recession but semi retired with a small business sourcing parts, cars, anything automotive and selling it on and occaisionally making a profit.
Third time round and lucky enough to have a handful of kids. The 'potage' we have is not big, ground is stoney but grows veggies well. Lots of grapes all round us as we are near cognac. We have an old ariens gt17 non runner to fix up, need to make a 3 point linkage for it, just buying a 4 foot cultivator to hang on the back, non runner too.
Parts in france for anything are few and far between, hence the business , and expensive! Visit the ariens forum often to read up on relevant posts, good bunch of chaps on there.
Ex land rover off road mechanic, already (trying to) mending our french neighbours machinery, may get easier if I ever learn to speaka de lingo. Natives are ever so friendly, often a bucket of potatos, carrots, plums ,cherries etc on our back porch in a morning when I let the dog out.
There will be lot's of duh! posts from me, a bientôt.

Welcome to Tractorbynet. That looks like an interesting place you have.

Near Cognac, you are sure to have better weather than we are having in Brittany this summer, and if you don't you can always rely on a drink of cognac to warm you up. Lovely place, looks like you've got lots of space to drive your various machines when they are all running.

I hear there is an exodus of Brits to France, not sure why...most settle down in the northern areas right across the channel like Brittany or Normandy, I see you found your way further south.

Welcome to TBN

Bonjour back 'atcha! What an adventure you are living! So, ... need a live-in tutor for the handful of kiddos? We're talking swap for room and board. Taught elem. school for 24 years - miss teaching, children, and France.

(minored in French)
Drop-dead, gorgeous landscape shot!

Regards,
ff
