Bolens H1502 pressure test?

I have a H1502 with the remote manifold for a loader and I want to test the system pressure. The pressure gauge on the loader is only showing 1300 psi but I was expecting 1800 psi per the Bolens specs. I would like to put the gauge before the loader and check the pressure coming out of the 3 point remote port but I want to be sure that the relief valve will kick in before some bad happens. Does anyone know how to safely check the system pressure?
