Bolens 152/1502 front hub

My little tractor is due for some regular service, in particular repacking the front hubs. These are a little different than I'm used to, they aren't tapered roller bearings, but open cartridge bearings with ball bearings. (they also have a castle nut with cotter pin) Do I still tighten things up the same ? ie snug things down then back off to the next flat that lets the cotter pin thru?
The service manual doesn't cover the 2wd hub.
