John Deere 4600 4WD
I just purchased a used 4600 and most of the panels are broken at one or more mounting points. They stay in position, but I want to take better care of her than the previous owner.

Is there a source for replacement body panels for a 4600 other than buying them new from John Deere? Or is there someone who discounts parts off the JD list price?

Glad to see they gave up on the plastic in the newer models. What were they thinking!

Gave up on the newer models? That is news to me.

I have the 4300, 1999 version. I had a problem with two mounting tabs and one side panel was replaced under warranty. Since then, I found the other broken tab believed to have been done by the Deere mechanics when in for some other warranty work. I used some of a fiberglass kit and made repairs to that one.

Now I just handle removing the side panels with some care and have not had a problem since. But have dropped a large tree limb on the hood with no damage. I'm happy with the plastic and hope that continues. Plastic won't rust. :D

I suspect Deere might be the only source unless someone bought up a supply from a warehouse. Would rather doubt it.

We like pics. Any of the damaged mountings?

ABS pipe cement is your friend for fixing these panels. Get it at Home Depot, or Lowe's.
Use it just like a fiberglass repair, just be careful the glue is black.
