I was wondering if anyone could help me to bypass all the lockout features bobcat has on their mulcher. I bought one a couple years ago and have yet to use it, i bought the forestry door but my machine will not recognize it so it won't let the mulcher come on. I had a drive motor go out this winter so i put the forestry door on it and the mulcher and took it to my dealer and asked, if while they had it, they could update my computer as well. With this door on, the lift arms would not operate unless you unplugged the harness. I explained this all when i dropped it off and sure enough, 2 months and $8,000 later, it still doesn't work. Mechanic said he just had to cut the main harness in order for my lift arms to operate with the door on, idiot, i told him you could unplug it to do that, anyways, they won't flash my computer, have no idea what that attachment is and are unwilling to learn about any of it. The next closes dealer to me is 500 miles away and i really hate to load this machine to go this far. There has got to be a way to bypass the valve in the head so that as long as it has flow, it'll run. I have never really been around one so i hate to just replumb it, not knowing what i am doing and break something else. I appreciate any help anyone can give me.

I'm thinking the bobcat head has a electric solenoid that prevents flow when the door sensor doesn't tell the computer to let flow. I'm not sure. I know there's not a whole lot of difference between the fecon and the Bobcat. Try and find the service manual for the Bobcat mulcher and look for the electric parts. My mulcher is an FAE and i've run FAE on Bobcats over 12 years. I just have 5 hydraulic lines. I've got a Bobcat chipper and it's identical to the Bear Cat (made by Bearcat) and it has an electric harness that won't allow it to run unless I remote start it. I want to disable all of that, too, but never got around to it.

You should be able to figure it out and if nothing else, see if Fecon has a part to replace a Bobcat part that is preventing flow without the door hooked up right. Just make sure you use a lexan door sensor or no sensor for safety.

Good day, we installed deniscimaf shredders on bobcats, but we did not install additional doors, the mulchers work well. The problem is definitely not in the car, but in the mulcher, there must be a locking valve, which opens when electricity is supplied, "walk" through the wires to the end point, most likely the valve is on the hydraulic motor. The valve must be removed or applied to it bypassing the system from the battery.

The type of door has nothing to do with the mulcher operating or not operating. In your manual it shows you the combinations of buttons to push to engage the head. On my CAT 299 XHP you need to hold two buttons in n the right joy stick and then push one on the left stick to engage and override the open door and no one in the seat for an example to run a wood chipper....there is a micro switch on the machine that closes when the door is closed, that tells the computer it's safe to run because the door is closed and the operator is in the seat, which has another switch in it. By unplugging the door harness you are defeating the door interlock switch.
