2010 Bobcat CT122
Hello all. New user here. I just purchased a 2010 Bobcat CT122 compact tractor. I want to add a backhoe at some point and had a few questions. I noticed that the bobcat backhoe (6TB) is extremely hard to find and pricey. Does anyone know if there is another backhoe attachment that will fit this tractor? I did some research and I see that the 6TB backhoe attachment comes with a subframe and brackets for a hard mount right to the tractor. Online I found a few backhoe attachments that attach to a tractor via the three point hitch. Is this an option for the CT122? If so is it a good or bad idea? Also if yes is there a particular unit that is the best choice? Thanks in advance for any advice provided and have a great day.

3 point hitch mounted backhoes are ok but very easy to break something very expensive. If you are doing just light digging and are careful you should be ok. My advice would be don't do it.

If you have the room good older two wheel drive backhoes can be bought almost for scrap price ☺

The CT122 is same engine, frame, and hydraulics as a Kioti CK20 so look something to fit that for more results.

Check with Woods. They make or made a little GroundbreakerX 6000, as I recall. It had reinforcements that attached directly to your frame and it's own mounting points. Very compact to store when not in use, unlike the Bobcat's. It fit Kubota and some other brands. They might have an option for your purpose.

Forget the 3 pt unless your digging in sand or powder snow. The damage you can do without proper sub frame is not worth the chance. Finding the rite sub frame and hoe used for the rite price is challenging at least. Brand new will cost 7-8 grand . You just have to b in the rite place at the rite time.Good luck.:drink:

got a backhoe for my CK20, has a sub-frame, in general it works decent, not fast, realy found it a pain keep moving the machine, set bucket, move seats, drop legs and dig, not the best but it will dig a hole.

tried it digging a gas line, 4 foot deep 300 foot trench, got 20 or so feet and purchased a Bobcat e32, the backhoe has sat since, that 300 foot trench was finished in less time than 20 feet with the backhoe
