I own a Bobcat 610 which works well for being an older, smaller machine. I am thinking of upgrading to a hydro drive and diesel machine. I am looking at a 825 that looks in good shape, might need a few things like a battery but nothing major that i could tell. Does anyone know what engine is in this model and how well the drive works? It looks to be an older style hydro drive system. I am also looking at a 753 that is in very rusty but in usable condition, it does have a few leaks (one is an axle) and is about $500. more that the 825 but is a lot more like the modern Bobcats. The 825 looks like its a bit bigger than the 753 but the 753 is faster than the 825. What engine is in the 753 model? How do these two models compare to each other and to my 610? Thanks

The 753 has a Kubota engine in it. About 40 net hp. Lifts about 1500 pounds. The 753 is really a nice skid steer, the hydraulics are feathered really good, smooth in general performance, and pretty responsive. The axle leak i cant say much, I haven't seen what the axles are like. In cold weather there is a deal about half way up and on the right side that can freeze up and prevents fuel from flowing to the engine. Thus it is very hard to start and wont stay running. So if you manually move the lever (has a rubber boot on the left side) it will free it up and it will run. Also, we keep a small shop light under the oil pan in the winter to assure easy starting, otherwise the oil wont flow well and it will also contribute to difficulty in starting. Is this a new version 753 or an old version, they had two different model decals and different style headlights. The old version had square lights, the new one has triangular ones. Thats what i can say about the 753, it is a great machine. For the 825, i don't know anything about that model. Hope this helps. :)

I have an 825 it has a Perkins 4.108 Diesel engine it looks like it could be 35 HP the biggest problem is if you are in a hurry to get from one place to another it is slow, it does have a leaver for high and low speed but high is slow also.

I tried out both the Bobcat Skidsteers. I liked the 753 a lot, it started and ran good power was good, hydrulics were smooth. it's not pretty but it works great so i bought it for a really good deal. My brother in law bought the 825, that ran good and worked well, it's a beast for lifting and moving stuff, it's a little jerky and slow but it was a good deal too. Now I need a 60" bucket for mine. Any good places to get one? Thanks
