Picked up a 731 skid steer that was stripped of all warning switches, and the wiring down to start, and a one wire alternator. I've redone the wiring (except lights) adding the temperature and pressure switches to the pump circuit, but i noticed a wire running from the first warning light to the engine compartment. the manual shows that this Purple wire (31p) going to an oil pressure switch on the deutz engine. The problem I have is that i don't see where on the engine the pressure switch is mounted. I'm sure that the prior owner just removed this switch also and plugged the hole. I could some help in locating where this switch should be mounted. Also is there a pressure switch, other than bobcat, that could be used? I realize that by the time this switch lights the "idiot" light it would probably be too late to save the engine. There does not seem to be anyway that the switch could "shut down" the engine. What modifications have you done to the 731 to make these warning switches more protective? And, a picture of the switch mounted in place would help, the fitting dimensions would be nice, pressure range of the switch.
