I have a Bobcat 553. I use the aux hydraulics to operate the grapple on a stump bucket. When putting the stump bucket on, the quick connect fittings won't go together unless I loosen a fitting on the Bobcat's hydraulic line to bleed off some fluid. How can I fix this? Am I doing something wrong? Is the problem with the Bobcat, the bucket, or the inexperienced operator?

Thanks for your time.

Kevin

You should not have a pressure problem on the BobCat side if you wiggle the levers or cycle the switch if solenoid operated.

Your attachment will develop pressure due to the temp.

You could build a dummy QD and a short length of PVC and stuff a rag inside, and then put a PVC cap and bore a vent hole. Plug this dummy into your attachment QD. Any leakage should be caught by the rag.

If done correctly, there should be no pressure in the attachment.

Good idea JJ. Does it matter which QD fitting on the attachment I use (male or female)?

Thanks...
