HI
I sent you a private message last night wondering if you found the problem. Just yesterday I started my 2000 331 and nothing would move with the digging functions. The blade would raise and lower and it would go back and forth. SS mentioned the switch. Today I went and took apart the left case to get to the micro switch. I traced the small cable to a connector. I took it apart, it looked perfect. Now I have the micro switch and a short cable that I can test. I am no means a mechanic, I do believe in good old common sense. I put an analog ohm meter on the connector coming from the switch. Arm rest was in the down position. I could see a resistance across the leads. I would have thought when in the down position I should have seen a short across the meter. Just some resistance. I put the arm rest up, now I see a short. That seemed backwards to me. I raised and lowered the armrest several times, still the same thing. I pugged the connector back together and armrest locked, nothing. I did the procedure again, this time I took some carb cleaner and sprayed the micro switch, it looked pretty nasty in there. I mentioned common sense, I was wondering, should I spray this with carb cleaner, I did anyway. I then sprayed WD 40 on the switch. The meter had the same reading, resistance in the down position and short in the up position. I still thought this was backwards. As the meter was still attached, I was raising and lowering the arm rest and something changed. I was now seeing the short in the down position, the resistance changed to the up position. I could not believe what I was seeing. I had not been drinking, but it sure changed. I put everything back together and gave it another try. BINGO everything is working fine. I will keep watch of the switch and replace it if I need to. JENXY, you probably tested it properly, I just thought I would pass this on. In Vermont.
