This video is something to watch. These are nice size boats, too. This was completely avoidable as the sea was calm and the skies clear. That crunch sound sure is a sickening sound to hear out at sea!

Vessel on the right has the right of way, but must also maintain course. It looks like the smaller boat was altering its course to port, which may have started the whole thing. However, the camera boat should have turned to avoid it, once the collision course was established.

I suspect the larger boat was on autopilot, and whoever was at the helm expected the smaller boat to cross in front of them. For whatever reason, he or she did not react properly or in time.
