Did he say 'blown up'?

There was an .... accident ...

Not really an accident as such. Finishing up moving some dirt, dropped the landscape rake and hydraulic fluid sprayed everywhere. Took me a few minutes to find it, but the Power Beyond loop hose has a 1/4" split in the outer liner. Checking to see what repair or replacement will cost and if it might be a warranty item.

Question for now .... can I patch it temporarily? Maybe a hose clamp? I don't need the hydraulic portion for now other than to be able to drive it around.

I thought you hit a buried bomb.. anyway, the pressure is way too great, and a repair made that way would be way too dangerous to even try..

No, that is a replacement item. It won't cost much and you can replace it yourself and reuse the connectors on the ends.

Missed it by THAT much!!

Took delivery on 9-10-18 ( https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums...too-many-choices-post5204345.html#post5204345 ), so the two years expired 4 days ago. Bummerr!!!

Dealer say $39.50 plug n play. Reasonable?

You could save some money if you want to take the time to order the hose, spec it yourself, which you have to make choices on the hose itself and the hose ends, and decide if you want to re-use the existing connectors., and assemble the hose yourself. This is the route I would choose, because I am CHEAP. You could probably save $20. On the other hand you can have the hose now, probably with new connectors on it, and you don't have to do or think out anything. Up to you.

Remove the hose, take it to NAPA or a hydraulic shop. They can make a new one.

Found a local shop that says they can do it for $25-30. Not much saving, but I'll have it tomorrow instead of waiting a week for shipping. That's IF he has the fittings on hand.

I bought a couple sets of DIY hydraulic fittings for the different size hoses on my tractor. I cut out the bad portion and splice the hose back together until a new hose can be obtained.

Tractor hydraulics aren’t terribly high pressure and since my tractor has a cab, I don’t get soaked it the repair fails.

Had it repaired at a hydraulic shop. Nobody had the banjo fitting for the end, so it had to be cut and spliced onto a new piece. It works ... for now. Got me back up and running, but I'll get the right one some day.
