pricing tractors now and I want a front blower. The tractors I am looking at they are between 5-7k. Are there better ways to buy this. Assuming I get the tractor ordered with a mid pto what else do I have to buy? Are front and rear blowers the same just the fronts have a frame package with them? Are there after market blowers around to look at? Right now really looking at TYM, Kioti, and potentially LS tractors at this point.

Front blower will almost always be more expensive because it will need some sort of custom hitch. There are some really good 3 point blowers -- lots of people have them on here and sing the praises. When I bought my tractor I knew that I would not be able to handle going backwards up and down long driveway so I got the front blower. Even for my small BX kubota the front blower was 4k. Its tough to part with that kind of cash up front but for me it was worth the cost to save my neck -- also in the event that I am not around my wife is able to do it without going crazy.

yeah i know like anything you can get used to it, but im not going to settle on driving machinery backwards for forseeable future. realistically its going to cost me an extra 2-3 grand, which whatever. Just wondering if there after market companies at better price points.

I would say the answer to that is NO. Every 3ph is the same within it's class. The front of every tractor is different and it's attachment system unique to the manufacture or model.

I got spoiled by front blowers a long time ago. Having said that. The neck is one of those things. Use it or loose it.

Front blowers and belly mowers are also very hard to find used, compared to 3ph models. I waited years before I found a blower for a JD at a municipal auction and had to pay twice what a 3ph blower was going for. And I considered that just shear luck that I found one at all.

When I bought my 2009 Kubota M6040, new in 2009, I looked and could find no used front blowers. I ended up with an ultra heavy duty rear blade. My days of blowing snow with a 3-point blower are over. I clear my mile long gravel driveway with my rear blade.

Using a 3-point blower, on my previous tractor, was a slow process. My neck & shoulders would be sore for a day or two afterwards.

I have an 1100# Rhino rear blade. Even its elevated price is less than a new front mount blower costs.

If you want a front mounted snow blower I would not recommend them unless you purchase a single stage MK martin snow thrower
as they have fewer parts and no second stage impeller to rob power or the shear pins needed for the impeller or cross augers.

n MK martin Series 1000 rear mount single stage will cost you much less than a rear mount two stage snow blower as it has fewer
parts and it is a much heavier build of snow blower.

You still need a mounting frame but the good thing about them is you can mount it on your next tractor with few modifications.

for the money you want to spend a Yanmar YSR1650DX self propelled track drive snow blower or a Yamaha 1332 walk behind track
drive snow blower would be a better option as they are a dedicated snow removal tool and they take up less space than a 2 stage
with a mounting frame for mule you want to buy in any case.

You could invest in a Kubota BX or JD series one mule and have 2 good machines; one for mowing and the other for snow removal.

I will echo what consumer reports says wherein you want a separate snow blower and a separate lawn mower to accomplish these
tasks to avoid problems in the future. Ask me I know!!!!

The john deere mule I bought with a 2 stage snow blower has been a mistake since the second year I bought it and It has cost me a
fortune in repairs and this past winter I said the **** with it and left it off the tractor as it take 4 hours to change the driven belt for the
impeller and cross augers.

If you are near Buffalo, Kellys Yamaha motorsports is only a couple hours away in Hamilton, Ontario there are Yanmar tractor and snow blower dealers in central new York
but investing in a front mount two stage Yanmar is going to cost you as much or more than a Yanmar YSR1650DX track drive walk behind snow blower.

The Yamaha and Yanmar walk behind snow blowers have smaller impellers and they operate at a much higher speed of rotation and do not clog as easily as long as you run the forward speed at a reasonable pace for conditions.

Another option would be the largest Toro Walk behind snow blower at 14 horsepower as it is a wheel drive unit with steering brakes and its patented anti clog feature that allows excess snow to be thrown back out into the cross augers and this permits the impeller to operate at a high rate of speed ejecting the snowpack for you and it will cost you less money to buy if the investment cost is a concern.

The Yamaha 1332 and 1028 have slick sheet material in the chute and impeller housing and cast slick sheet material that is bolted in place in the impeller throat to reduce clogging and maintain a high rate of snwo tonnage discharge.

The Yanmar 1650 DX gas powered water cooled snow blower operates the small diameter impeller at a very high rate of speed and also cuts the snow into tiny pieces as it ejects it.

Either unit would benefit form using Fluid film Spray to slick up all the components that contact snow and allow them to move the snow pack much more efficiently without causing the cross augers to freeze up with compacted snow.

I would ask your neighbors what they are using over a dinner of Pizza and beer and then go from there but the toro, yanmar or Yamaha units would be much better option.

you can find lots of videos of Yanmar snow blowers working in Japan and Yamaha snow blowers working in Canada and Prince Edward Island.

Thanks for the detailed response and information it is very helpful. I already have a 32in pro sereies simplicity now, so dont need to buy another walk behind. The idea is to eliminate machinery. To be frank two tractors is not in the cards and to be honest two tractors is kind just really isnt logical, in space to store, use, and budget.
