Block Heaters

I was wondering if anyone has installed a block heater on their Kubota. I have an '05 4330 and while I don't need one, I would like one and am hoping someone has done this and can steer me in the right direction. Thanks.

I installed one in my BX2200 a few years back. There was a 17mm allen plug in the side of the block that I removed and the block heater screwed right back into the hole. Of course, your tractor could be completely different.

Sure does help on those cold mornings when you need to remove some snow!

I have been thinking about one for my BX24 too - anyone know if they install the same... it gets COLD here in upstate NY.

Kubota part # 70000-00297 is designed to fit in your L4330. It will probably cost about $35 or so from the parts department. Although I am not familiar with installing this part, it should be pretty much the same as the other Kubota block heaters. You will need a 17mm allen wrench. Sears has them.

KB4330: if you check in Parts and Repairs a couple of weeks ago, you'll find a thread I started about needing a special tool to remove the fitting on my B8200's engine so I could install a block heater. I finally got around to making and using a special socket- job done. I got the heater, a Kubota item made in Canada, and serious quality, from the looks of it, from Tractorsmart for about $32 a year or two ago. I may post some photos of the tool. Every tractor has different issues with the installation- I noticed that the same heater fits a lot of different Kubotas. Most use a simple socket to remove the fitting or whatever for installation. Oughta work fine, when it gets cold enough. Now, to wire up a timer controlled from the house for when I think I will be plowing snow!

Mine is in the low pressure retun line for the radiator. It's worth it to get one.

Hey thanks for that number MadReferee, it was helpful when I talked to my dealer this morning. I ordered the part and will see if I can install it myself. It seems that on my tractor, it must be installed behind the hydraulic pump so I'm not sure how much will be involved in the installation. The dealer couldn't really say as they ususally don't put them on here in this part of Oregon. Thanks to all who responded. I will post back when I get the part and see what will be involved with the installation.
