Block heater

   / Block heater #11
I just received my block heater and was wondering which engine knock out it should go in. Left side or right side of the engine. Thanks
Not critical, but use these three factors in choosing the freeze plug to knock out:

1. You don't want to choose one that is directly atop a cylinder wall, as there won't be sufficient cavity volume to fit the heater element. Try to choose a freeze plug that's well-centered between two cylinders.
2. Left vs. right, consider where you park your tractor, and access to the cord. If you park the machine with the left side hard up against a wall, you probably don't want your heater there.
3. Look at the potential routing of the pigtail cord, and where you can safely zip-tie it and the plug. You want it easily accessible, but out of harm's way.

Oh, I gues there's one more:

4. Make sure all of your freeze plugs are actually the same diameter, as I've seen engines where they have an odd size or two. Obviously you need to choose one that matches your heater.
