Blizzard sno-blowers

[Patches]

I posted in the Kioti forum questioning if anyone had experience with this brand. Got no response, so am casting a wider net: anyone out there with any experience with Blizzard sno-blowers? I've an opening to buy a B74 blower, 1 year old, used by a home owner, and only slightly abused Given the increase in steel prices, I really don't want to go new, but don't want to buy junk either. The blower is in really good shape, but I know nothing about them so far as longevity/quality. Really looking for some help

I've got a Blizzard B64. I bought it with the tractor in fall of '03. Works well, seems to be built well, no problems.

I have one , two years old, I will try to find pics and post I used a wiper motor and a linear motor to swing the shute and rotate.

Thanks for the responses; I guess these are not terribly popular. I've seen many Meteor and more than a few Provonost, along with some others, but no Blizzard?

I've seen other postings for smaller Blizzard snowblowers and the concensus was that they were pretty rugged and the owners liked them. I have looked at a lot of different brands and they all look more solid than the blower I have, and mine holds up just fine. There isn't a lot to them that can't be fixed, so if the price is right, I'd go for it. I thought my unit cost a lot of money when I bought it, but it sure felt like it paid for itself when the first big storm hit. Dyer, retired

I've never owned a Blizzard (unless they make Kubota's front blowers), but i did look at them when i was shopping for a rear blower a couple years ago. I thought they looked as rugged as most, and i especially liked their system for chute rotation. I thought their "corkscrew" to rotate the chute was much more refined than wrapping a cable around the chute. I'd say if the price is right, go for it !

The 'corkscrew' design allows it to be able to use a wiper motor to rotate . it has to be isolated tho so you can use the changing of polarity to swing both ways. i use a hospital bed motor and a auto heater motor to to turn the linear actuator for the chute open and close
Its sure built rugged for me. I paid about 1800 if i remember right two years ago.

I read a post from someone in a different thread that said that our Kubota (Mine is a BX2750) blowers are made by RAD, the company that makes Blizzard blowers. All the Blizzard blowers are advertised as being made with 4 fan blades....my Kubota has 3, so I'm wondering if anyone knows for sure who produces the Kubota blowers? Dyer, retired

I've got a RAD Blizzard 74" and it works great. Last winter was my first year with it adn it moved a LOT of snow. I'd give it a thumbs up. Mine has the hydraulic chute rotation which is real nice.

Like anything else it depends on where you are.... I went home (the county) this past weekend and every lot up there had some Blizzards...I'm currently in the market for one myself and the Blizzard B74 is #3 on my Shopping list...

The Meteor from what I've seen isnt the best out there (Small Fan, Relatively Light, Etc)...but if you're looking for cheap, they're the brand to get.
