Have not been able to locate manual for my 60" deck found in Boonesville, Ind at the local dealer. Decided to sharpen the blades and wondering if it matters what position the blakes go as to vibration. I have them pretty much parallel and looking for any advice/info.

Don't think it matters, don't matter on my lawnmowers any ways.

If they needed to be 'indexed' or 'clocked', they'd be keyed to the shafts so they could only go on one way (or 180 degrees). Most systems that I have seen that use belts to spin the blades are not indexed.

For what it's worth... in the manual for the 60" deck, indications are that the two outer blades be parallel and the center blade perpendicular to them.

I suspect they may shift a bit as the deck is used, but after removing them for sharpening, I put 'em back on that way each time. The main effect I can see is --perhaps-- the cleanness of the cut; I haven't noticed that vibration is really an issue.

Won't, matter, after about 5 minutes they will be randomly repositioned anyway.

"Won't matter, after about 5 minutes they will be randomly repositioned anyway."

I haven't really looked at them, but I sorta figured that's what happens, there's gotta be some slippage in the belt.... (Large rocks probably don't help, either!)
